Pedal question
I saw A video where Eddie Rivers has a volume pedal but also by moving his knee side to side has the “boowa” effect of the tone knob. Anyone know what this pedal is and anybody use one?
Thanks,
Pete.
Thanks,
Pete.

Re: Pedal question
It's called a volume/tone pedal, sometimes referred to as a "boo-wah" pedal. Here's an example of one made by Fender on Reverb.com, but it was sold 12 years ago.

Re: Pedal question
Hi Pete!
I have an old Dearmond 610 volume/tone pedal that works well(I have to admit that I don't use it for boo-wah effect much). You can find them for not a lot of money.

Re: Pedal question
Most likely it is a Fender Vol/Tone pedal. Bigsby and Dearmond also made them but they are pretty rare and hard to find. I have used the Fender pedal exclusively for decades. The originals are from the 1950s and they were reissued by Fender (in the 90s?). Here's I little clip I made to demo the sound:

Re: Pedal question
Hey Pete,
I got one of those vol/tone fender pedals.
They’re alright. Mine does an ok boo-wah sound. I suspect some may be better than others, or maybe mine was altered by a previous owner.
I rather get the boo-wah effect from the onboard tone pot.

Re: Pedal question
Hmmm... this topic reminded me that I used to have an old Fender volume/tone pedal that was multi directional - it rocked up and down for volume AND swiveled left and right for the tone control.
Is any body still building something like this?
There is a 610 DeArmond version on Reverb for $600?
Gulp...

Yes, the Fender pedal you have is exactly like the one Pete is talking about.
I was not familiar with the DeArmond pedal, but it looks cool! Thanks for sharing.
I don't think anyone is making new pedals like the Fender or DeArmond vol/tone pedals anymore. If you find one, please share!
Enjoy!

Mike K

Re: Pedal question
I didn’t find anybody making a new one. Was why I went looking for the old Fender.
