Sacred Steel on Morning Edition

Two eight-minute segments on the "sacred steel" tradition of the House of God Churches are scheduled to be broadcast on NPR's Morning Edition; one Thurs 5/4 and one Friday 5/5. The segments are scheduled to air about 40 minutes into the first hour. Interview and playing demos by Chuck Campbell, music by Calvin and Grace Cooke recorded live at the SS Convention on 4/1, as well as excerpts from the Arhoolie recordings should be featured.

Of course, arts programming can always be bumped by late-breaking news, but that's the schedule at this time.
