New NO-pot pedal from Goodrich!

Post by Ann Fabian »

Come check out the new STEREO Goodrich CD2 no-pot, no-battery VOLUME PEDAL at the Carter Booth at St. Louis!

Press Release ... received from Goodrich today:

"Our STEREO Goodrich CD2 no-pot, no-battery VOLUME PEDAL contains Revolutionary new, all-analog circuitry.

[*]EXTREMELY quiet!
[*]Ultra-low distortion!
[*]Extra High Headroom Level prevents clipping even when you pick hard!
[*]No parts or clutches to adjust or wear out![/list]

Pedal goes from full-on to full-off... without any need for adjustment.
Delivers your guitar's TOTAL signal accurately and withOUT tonal changes at ALL volume levels as it should.

True Stereo operation of 2 isolated channels, as well as the standard mono in, 2 channel out operation for NO signal loss!

We chose Analog for our Stereo Volume Pedal because of its musical integrity, lack of distortion, and its smooth transition from one volume level to another.

This pedal can be ordered directly from the designer & manufacturer, Goodrich Sound Company, at St. Louis or through Goodrich dealers, such as Carter Steel Guitars, etc. after the show. Available in Q4 2000. List Price is $225 (includes the power supply). One-Year Warranty. The power supply is also a standard item available for about $7 at Radio Shack."

Photos available at a later date. We understand that outwardly it looks a lot like the sleek appearance of all the other standard Goodrich pedals.

How does this compare with the new Hilton pedal? Is it basically the same thing?

My understanding is that the features and technology are different.

Give Goodrich a call or talk with them at St. Louis.

Their phone number is listed here.

from the designer and manufacturer, Goodrich Sound Company 8/25/00 and posted at their request:

"We probably haven't been too clear as to how our new pedal operates. In essense, this is how it works:

As the CD2 pedal moves betwen OFF and ON, conductive diodes are activated by a logarithmically varying exposure to an L.E.D. There is no physical contact between operative parts and when successfully implemented, serves better than any other method we know of, as a means of controlling the volume level of Mono or Stereo signals.

(We are not using infra-red technology).

Goodrich Sound Co."

Don't tell anybody Bobby. You'll spoil my image.

Seriously, I'd like to compare the 2 new pedals side by side, using the same guitar and amp, and see what the similarities and differences are bwetween them. I hope this can be arranged during the convention.

I have used a Goodrich light pedal for years. It has always worked without a hitch. You could not buy it from me ever. Goodrich rules as far as I am concerned.
