Dallas in March

Post by Laney Hicks »

Dallas in March holds more than some of the happiest memories of my life. I've been thinking a lot about those perfectly magical times since Albert's gracious invitation to come back this year.

I can't wait to see many most beloved Friends again! And, I can't wait to hear the Music, like no other, performed perfectly by both revered familiar faces...and the incredible "new" Artists I've been hearing so much about!

I'm beyond excited to be doing a Song that means the world to me with an Iconic Artist who means the world to all of us and to the Steel Guitar forever...that's a big hint in case it's a surprise.

and......

The privilege of doing a Set with Russ.....no words.

Hey Guys,
Thanks so much for saying hello and for the encouragement and warm welcome!

Unforgettable experience with Buddy Emmons, oh my, yes. Such a lovely melody, and what a creative mind to come up with that insanely wild but brilliantly excellent, modulation!!!

Lloyd Green's rendition is Show-Stopping, believe me!

Peter! Your clever post made me laugh out loud! Thanks for that!

Special love to you all...can't wait to see you!

Tommy.....

"You can jump on a speedy colt,
Cross the border in a blaze of hope,
I don't care how you get there,
Just get there.....if you can."

Here's hoping you can satisfy all those commitments

….cause it just wouldn't be the same without you.

By the way, please hug your Daddy for me.

Love you always and always

Bill! I did not get your email, but I do have a new address and that’s probably why.
I’ll remedy that.

I‘m going to find you and Linda as soon as we get there! It will feel like yesterday! But it’s been too too long.

Do you MC from your steel?😘

Love you both!

Laney,
It will be wonderful to hear you again, it has been a few years. You won us over the very first line of the first song we heard you sing!!! Very reflective of the great Connie Smith, but yet....your own "twist" on it!!
Can hardly wait.....

Hi Neil and Barb!
This trip to Dallas has become very, very personal for me. I can't tell you how good it will be to see you folks, and just be in the presence again of so many people who frankly are the best people I've ever known. I don't yet know where our table will be, but please come and spend time with us there. I want to talk to you!

Love you both

Ben,
Okay...now I'm worried about you! I'm so sorry to hear you have health issues that may impact your coming to Dallas. When I tell you I'm praying for you, I'm not just saying that to be nice....

One thing I've been doing a whole lot of since last seeing you, and the special Steel Guitar Community, is leaning very closely on the Lord Jesus in a deeply personal way. I've felt His Presence walking through suffering with me, I've experienced His Healing touch, and I guess I'll always be learning how to "let go" and trust Him to do with me what He will....I believe He's worthy of complete Trust, and so I remind my human fear and unbelief of that Truth quite often...

I don't know what you're struggling with, Ben, but I'm praying to the Lord that I lean on every day, to assure you of His Presence, and His Care. And I pray and Trust that I'll see you in Dallas, Mister!

And I'm looking forward to that hug!!!

Brett Day!
You know how special you are to me! I would Love, Love, Love to get to work with you again! I will never forget our time together on stage in South Carolina, and how well you played!

I've always been so impressed at how much you know about the instrument, and the players, and the music in general!

But, most of all, you're my Good, Good Friend!

I appreciate your Love so much...and you have mine Forever!
