OzSGA Branson MO. 2020

Post by Charlie Steichen »

After much deliberation, soul searching, and financial planning the board of directors and the advisory board have made some tough decisions.
Due to financial constraints, we have cancelled the March show. This show was a great show, but hasn't broke even for the last 5 years. The club doesn't need to make a profit, but we do have to pay our bills.
We have also dropped the bimonthly jams for the current time.
The JULY SUPER SHOW dates are July 24-25 with a jam on the evening of the 23rd.
We will also have our Christmas Jam Dec 13th.
If you have paid your membership cards will be mailed within a couple of weeks. If you're not a member you can join for just $20.00 / year for the OzSGA. Your support is the only way to keep not only this club, but the other clubs around the country going.
Feel free to call me @ 417-294-1268 with any questions.

Thanks Charlie for the update and clarification of the events. I am a member and will continue to be, and attend the Super Show as always. I love this show, the club and the opportunity to see and hear 1st class steel players. The Hotel accommodations are great and the OSGA Ozark staff and back up band are wonderful.

Charlie, I think not doing the spring show is a good idea. I would rather see the money you would save to go towards the super show. I really think we might be able to have enough success with the super show to at least still be able to do it. I think most people would be in agreement that they enjoy the super show in July a little better anyhow. I know that I tend to like the July show a little better. The sad thing is, we live in a time now because of today’s music, it’s getting harder to spark new interests in steel guitar. We need to change that somehow, I wish I could snap my fingers and it would be like the steel guitar convention used to be.
