I am digitizing all my old cassette tapes from the conventions.
I am now working on 1980 and my tapes did not get labeled as to who was on each tape.

Does anyone have a copy of the 1980 International Steel Guitar Convention program?

If so, could you please send me the schedule page so that I can continue my mission to post everything I have steel guitar on YouTube.

Thanks so much
Bill

I can't wait to hear these shows again. These were magical times and I think the height of the steel guitar. Players were expanding the scope of the instrument and doing fabulous things with it.

I hope Bill is able to post some of the Superpickers set. Sure would be nice to hear those great musicians again.
There's Willie Rainsford...big voice...first rendition of Elvira I ever heard...way before the Oaks.

Thanks Bill for archiving this stuff and keeping the memories alive from this magical era of steel guitar.

I realize this may not be the proper place to post this, but I wanted to keep it all together in case it all gets moved.

Wow, what a convention lineup. I bet nobody got any sleep during that convention. Too much talent to see and hear.

Bill, I wonder if you would be able to make me a copy of Al Petty's set in 1980. I was playing guitar for him that year. I haven't got anything recorded with him during the time I was with him. Thanks, JT

To think about what I was doing in 1980 and comparing it to this, which I was completely unaware of, it’s a little embarrassing. No wait. It’s a lot embarrassing! Jerry - it is so cool that you still have those programs! Bill, thank you again for this monumental effort. Can’t wait for this one 👍
