Misty on C6

Post by Ron Sodos »

I know its played on E9 but
I've been working on the back neck and heard the jazz version by
Richard Groove Holmes and fell in love.
Was just wondering if someone worked it up for C6

Yeah, someone, maybe Chalker..can't be sure. Never heard any steel cuts with Holmes' groove though.

The "Groove" Holmes B3 cut of this tune is the best I've ever heard from anybody on any instrument Ron. Knocks me out every time. I've worn out tapes and CDs over years and years of listening to it. Never, ever get tired of it. It's just killer. Only complaint I have is it's not long enough even though it's 6 or 7 minutes, I think.

His cut is to the jazz world what JayDee's Ray Steven's version is to the country world.

I've not tried to do it, but maybe sit at your guitar and play along with it. I bet you can come up with some nice sounds. Need to try it myself. Very interested to know what you come up with.

Maybe it's too much to ask but I was hoping somebody might have had some tab for it. I'm kind of a beginner C6 player I've been playing e9th for 40 years. I already Play Misty on my E9. When I start working something up for C6 I usually need a tab to get started.

I've worked on Misty on C6th a bit, but as in all things "Dale", got sidetracked. I even made a Rhythm track for it ... I'm sure I'd have to start from scratch now, especially since I'm an ear player. Thanks for bringing Misty back into my mind, :D New Squirrel

Herby Wallace had a nice C6 course with a great "Misty" arrangement - maybe some FoBro can Help Ron out.

I have Herby's cassette of Misty, but there is no tab with it.
It's a very slow ballad.

Perhaps he did sell it as a separate course, dunno.

You can find the chord chart at a few places online.

ralph patt.com/song index is one place.

The tab is included in HWP #200, his intro to C6 course.
