Hi everyone, I'm a newbie on the steel and got myself a shiny new Sho Bud. I decided I could improve the feel by changing the throw of the left knee levers and made some "adjustments". Now I can't get the E strings to tune properly. I've spent hours messing with this and watching videos and I could really use some advice. The changer in this guitar is a pull-release. I can get the open string in tune and the lower in tune but then if I tune the raise, then the lower is so far off pitch that even moving the lever stops makes no difference. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Sho Bud Maverick II Tuning Help
I just got one of Jimmie Hudson's pull releases and I had the same problem. Here is how it is done on that guitar: First, check to make sure the fingers for the E's are aligned. Press the A&B pedal and engage the lever and tune the lower at the keyhead. Release the D lever and tune the open string E's at the hex nuts

Re: Sho Bud Maverick II Tuning Help
Anytime you move pull rod locations you will need to adjust the pedal/knee travel. If you put the rod in a lower hole the knee will need to travel further as you have made the pull longer. I would suggest you reach out to David Jackson to get you straightened out. Also in the future ask before you adjust.
