I will be fishing for hot licks on the Sho-Bud (in San Pedro) when it's midnight in New York. By the time 2026 rolls around here in California I will be in the comfort and safety of my sleep chamber.

I won't be far behind you Earnest. I'll be home shortly after the ball drops.

I'll be out for the first time in years. I stopped NYE gigs a long time ago for many reasons and my buds usually have one. This year everyone is idle so we're congregating at the pickin' barn for some casual pickin' and grinnin'. Probably be a crowded stage...just hope it doesn't get too rowdy.

Nice dinner spread, coffee and lemonade, fellowship amongst sober friends and family members vs. poppers and cocktails.

Staying home. I could have played a gig 2.5 hours away from home but late night driving is out for me anymore. And late night is hours are too hard for the old body. I played some at home earlier and that's my effort for new years eve.

Was supposed to travel from NY to TN for a 7 week stay, and play NYE in a friend's band. Made the 830 mile drive, found one of my wife's brothers was in hospice - in Pittsburgh. So we went there while that played out. Services will be here in NY next week so obviously here we are.

I have no hesitation at all, it was the only thing to do, but I will confess I kept looking at the clock last night wondering what song I would have been playing at that particular moment.

We'll be going back down after things settle down, and maybe next NY Eve there will be another opportunity.
